Review - Your Own Greeting Card Line
In this course entitled Secrets of Self-Publishing and Printing Your Own Greeting Card Line, Delores Naskrent shares her favorite methods for selling greeting cards, ranging from craft sales to POD.

Naskrent begins with a review of the greeting card industry. She discusses the most popular categories of cards and her favorite card sizes for self publishing. Next, we discusses the various ways to sell your cards. She begins with a discussion of online marketplaces such as Etsy® and Zazzle® and how their online systems make the selling process simple. Next, she discusses her own online eCommerce card store, which she built using Shopify®. Selling wholesale is another option. Naskrent also shares her expertise selling to commercial partners.

Naskrent discusses in depth her process of producing her own greeting cards using VistaPrint®. She begins with a custom template containing the usual bleed and her logo on the back of the card. Her artwork for the front, back and inside of the card is at 300 dpi. She points out how she lowers the opacity of the artwork for the inside of the card.

Naskrent shares that she uses VistaPrint to print her cards and has them mailed to herself. She discusses how she has the front and back of the greeting card printed on one side of a postcard and the inside images are printed on the reverse side. Once the cards arrive, her next step is to score the cards for folding and packaging the cards.

Finally, Naskrent discusses selling greeting cards on Card Isle®. She demonstrates how to upload your artwork and add the metadata required for selling.

Delores Naskrent lives in Canada and has been an art educator for over 30 years. She has a wide range of artwork, which she sales through art licensing and her online eCommerce store.
